Jim Thompson's house

One of the highlights of our stay in Bangkok was visiting the former
home of Jim Thompson. Thompson was an American architect who fell in
love with Thailand while working for the OSS (now CIA), creating a
silk manufacturing business that was instrumental in reviving this
traditional Thai craft. His home is based upon the traditional teak
Thai design, but updated and elaborated. The garden is dense and
jungle like. Best of all, Thompson's diverse art collection is
dispersed throughout, just like when he lived there. Thompson, by the
way, mysteriously disappeared in the 1960s on vacation in Malaysia.
