This ain't no Starbucks
It's great to be back in a true coffee culture. In Rome, coffee isn't a 16 ounce milk bomb in a to-go cup. And cafes aren't places to bring your laptop and talk about your feelings. Cafes here are simply caffeine delivery systems, perfect for addicts like me. You stand up to ingest your beverage, and you do it quickly. It is warm, not hot, in order to promote rapid consumption. And, it can have milk in the morning (just a little, in a cappuccino), but never in the afternoon. And there is no such thing as a pumpkin spice latte--this place is for purist addicts.
