I love oysters, and Eventide offers 15 perfect, fresh, off-the-boat varieties. Luckily, one can get the sampler platter, which is like making out with 12 college freshmen in fifteen minutes, if the college freshmen are the ocean.
Their other dishes are all write-home candidates as well: shatteringly crispy fried oysters with pickled cauliflower in kim chee purée, Maine hiramasa crudo with rhubarb nom prik, togorashi peanuts, and nasturtiums, and crispy broccoli rabe with toasted almonds, caper mayo and XO sauce. That last one nearly killed the deal for K-Ron since XO sauce contains pork. Then again, she raved about the duck fat fries today at lunch, so maybe there's hope.
Anyway, all this was shared plates and I can pull it off at home. Even the XO sauce.
