worth a post: the answer is I have none.
The long flight left SFO at midnight, and I slept through most of it.
Sure, you're upright, but ten hours of upright sleep seems to do the
work of six laying down, at least for me. So when we got into Taipei
at six am it felt like time to start a normal day.
We got to the hotel in Hanoi by noon, got lunch, saw a few sights
(more on that to come), freshened up at the hotel, had dinner and got
to bed about nine. It's six am now, and I feel great.
Karen didn't fare quite so well, getting less sleep on the plane, so
she was starting to fade early Sunday--hence the early bed time. We
should both be fine today.
BTW, for those keeping track, we're 15 hours ahead.
And with any luck, the way back will hopefully go just as smoothly: we
depart Bangkok early in the morning and get back to SFO at nine pm--20
hours later. Should just feel like an extra long day.

For future reference, it's actually much worse in the other direction. I recommend Benadryl and a glass of wine on the plane home.
