Welcome to Pushkar, now start relaxing

We arrived in Pushkar by car, to take a break from trains for a while. The vibe here is super chill, slightly crunchy, very relaxed. The small town wraps around a big, placid lake with numerous ghats (prayer baths), including one where Gandhi's ashes were scattered. According to legend, the lake appeared when Brahma dropped a lotus flower on the earth. It's a Hindu pilgrimage site, so no meat (sorry Michael) or alcohol. And it appears to be a bit of a hippy pilgrimage site as well. Things are endearingly a little messed up here--our hotel had to explain Pushkar's twice a day power outages when we arrived. As the menu at our hotel restaurant says, just chill, chat, relax...

Relax, damn it! Lovely shot--are you taking these with your phone, or a full size camera?

We've got two phones and a real camera. The phones are great because we can just email pics to the blog. It's only a matter of finding a connection.
